Hi, I am Jen Lowell!

I am a military wife and mom to two amazing little boys. I have a melting pot of jobs on my resume ranging from bank teller and law firm secretary, to a marketing & advertising specialist, to being my own boss as an online personal trainer and nutrition coach until just a couple years ago. Presently, I work for the adoption agency my husband and I adopted our boys through as frozen embryos, and for the last two years I have been living out my passion and love for capturing moments that tell the stories of our lives through photographs into a business of my own.

I love doing as much as possible outdoors with my family including hiking, boating, paddle boarding, and going to the beach. I also love being active whether that's in the gym or playing with our boys while adventuring outdoors.

As a military family, my husband and I have lived in Mississippi, Texas, Arizona, Utah, Florida, and currently reside in the West Valley of Arizona, after meeting in Colorado in 2015. It's a given that I love exploring new places and taking in the beauty that can be found everywhere we go. Life is always an adventure and who knows where the wind (and the military) will blow us next. But wherever it is, I'm thankful to have my boys to explore it all with, and now, to have the opportunity to meet new people everywhere we go while getting to photograph them in a way and place that gives them something beautiful to treasure forever.

What's in a name?

Who is "Kora Jo"... those who know my family know that my husband and I were blessed with our two beautiful boys through embryo adoption. I am such a proud "boy mom" and absolutely LOVE roughing it with my boys and playing all things cars, trucks, tractors, and sports. If you know me personally, you might also know that my middle name is Sejkora, a name passed on to me from my maternal grandmother's maiden name. My grandmother is a force to be reckoned with, and her spunk is something I have always admired and loved about her. As well as the way she has always taken care of others by going above and beyond what is asked of her. And that lovely woman in the pictures above, that's my own momma. Her middle name is Jo. So I think you can see where I'm going now...

I've always taken pride in my middle name, and I love how unique it is. My mom has always set an example for me of everything I've ever wanted to be as a woman, wife, and mother. She has always been my best friend, biggest advocate, and one of the most supportive, encouraging, calming, and wisest people in my life. She is known by many for her compassion, gentle nature, pure heart, and the love she spreads to everyone around her. She leaves an impression and an impact on everyone she meets, and she can make friends with anyone. She is beautiful, adventurous, powerful, and a strong woman that carries a peaceful presence. So it was always without question that if I were ever blessed with a daughter, she would carry "Jo" as her own middle name, and in my perfect world, Sejkora would have been her first name. As we do not have a daughter, I have given this passion and business of mine, of serving others and their families, a name that I have cherished for many years when I used to think about the name I would hope to give to a daughter of my own. A name that I am proud of and that represents what I hope others experience when they work with me, and see when they view my work.

I hope that through my photos you see peace in chaos; strength in faces of people that may have a stories to tell; radiating love between couples, families, and parents and their children; adventure and a zest for life in the unposed, candid moments that are my favorite to capture; and beauty that runs wild, fierce, and free. All traits I see in my own mother; traits I hope others might see in me; and traits I pray that my two boys carry throughout their lives.
